A project by David McCandless and William Tyrer that maps flavors that complement various types of foods. They analyzed 1000 recipes from the BBC Food & Epicurious.com to come up with the associations. I love how the visual form of the information graphic literally took on the shape of flower buds – each with their own ‘sense’ characteristics. If you envision each flavor as a smell – it gets even more interesting.
